 Richard III between Shakespeare's play with his namesake as the title, and the modern historian notes on his life, to the moving of his bones to a more kingly place! Was Richard the III the usurper or was he righteous in taking the throne from Edward V?  The reign of Edward IV was a prosperous one, with choices that changed the power grab of the royal house and the kingdom. Started by choosing an English woman and ignoring the international powers of marriage, just to make the duke of York out of power. This made York furious designing rebels with Edward IV brother: George duke of Clarence, in the most gregarious way. George is a pompous good-for-nothing, who just wanted power, without even fighting a war for it, his younger brother Richard was already 21 and participated in many wars to defend the honor of his family and the throne of his brother later on. The War Of The Roses

 The war of the roses is one of the most talked about part of British history, it is a period of struggle of different families on the throne.  We cannot simplify it to just a war between two families the house of York and the house of Lancaster as indeed there was no clear definite lines between the collated powers that fought together, there was always continuous shifting of sides and powers between different houses of the crown. If we want to pinpoint a starting point to the complete explosion that is the Battle of Bosworth, we can choose the birth of Henry VI! Henry V was a strong king that took upon himself the expanding of the English crown and the stability of the people, but his life was short and ended by an infectious diarrhea in a couple of weeks. His son at the time of his death was still an infant, with all the power of the English crown at the time, even Richard II had his crown latter in life.  British history of the middle ages always fascinates me. it has a lot of turn overs, a lot of wars, and a lot of complicated royal family drama! In short it is the best to do a thrilling historical drama about for fiction authors, as you can see in the game of thrones and other similar series!  It is the time period that enriched the Shakespeare's library with stories, just see his historical plays in the portfolio! sans to Hamlet, they are mostly long but somehow biased towards Queen Elizabeth, his sponsor in a way! The drama in the war of the roses is a current research area to most new historians and of course old ones, the drama of King Henry the VIII alone is another subject! Queen Ann Boleyn beheading is still scoring movies in our time!   So as you can see it is an area of all the components of sucess to a great story, so why not tackle that!  That is what this blog about, ENJOY!
